Introducing me by video
About Me
“I hold a PhD in managing sport stakeholder relationships and have worked with, and for, a variety of sport organisations and communities over the past 20+ years - resulting in a sound knowledge of the New Zealand sport industry. Such experience, when coupled with the sport-focus of my current academic role (teaching, research and industry engagement), means I bring a best-practice approach to sport governance. One of my personal desires is to utilise my knowledge and expertise to assist some of the smaller New Zealand sport organisations in improving their governance standards, achieving their strategic goals and enhancing their stakeholder relationships. Governance wise, I have over 10 years committee and board member experience. I have completed the Sport New Zealand Governance 101 training course. In acknowledging the opportunities for sport organisations to support an increasingly diverse range of participant backgrounds and abilities, I have also completed the Halberg Inclusion training course. Assigned Board portfolios, across my various governance roles to-date, have included policy and legislation, marketing and communications, stakeholder relationship negotiations, sponsorship, brand management and the diversification or revenue streams. I am based in Auckland, as a a Senior Lecturer within the School of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition at Massey University.”
