About Me

“My background includes nine years serving on school Boards as an elected parent Trustee, including three years as Chair of Onslow College Board. I am currently a Board member of the Institute of Cultural Affairs Australia and was previously involved in in Board appointments to the global Board of the International Association of Facilitators, the main professional body for whom I am a member. As a professional facilitator, and facilitative leader, I believe I bring a unique set of skills to the Board table, particularly my commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi; my ability to ask strategic questions; my commitment to inclusion and ensuring all Board members equitably contribute; and my strong understanding of policy and strategy. I also bring a background of thirty years working in the natural resource and environmental policy sectors: with sustainability and climate change being important strategic issues, this skill base adds further to the value I can add to a governance role. I have more than ten years experience as a technical official for Swimming NZ, and contributed as a Committee member on my local swimming club when my children were younger. I am an active open water swimmer, and I also follow, with interest, adventure sports such as mountain biking, running and orienteering. ”
