About Me
“Originally from the UK, my personal sporting history is all watersport related, with experience in kayaking, dingy sailing, yachting and rowing. I competed in high-performance squads as a cox with Oxford Brookes University and then Leander Club, with a career highlight of winning at Henley Royal Regatta in the Thames Challenge Cup event for men's club 8's. In New Zealand, I have led rowing coaching programs at school and club level, and coached athletes from beginner to those trialing successfully for national squad selection at U19 and U21 level. I took a break from coaching to return to study, and have recently completed the University of Waikato's MBA program, with a special interest in governance and strategic management. I will graduate with distinction in October 2026. I currently work for Surf Life Saving New Zealand in a role focused on club capability, leadership and strategy and have previously worked with Land Search and Rescue supporting volunteer squad capability and operational success.”
