About Me
“Bringing a transformative ethos to governance, I prioritise athlete welfare and equity. My career spans diverse roles: from representing New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games and coaching at grassroots levels, to significant governance roles in sport-related charities and academic research. I am also a senior manager in the public service, specialising in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, where I ensure stakeholder alignment and financial management. My expertise in sport science informs a governance approach that advocates for inclusive policies addressing critical social issues. Rooted in equity, integrity, and collaboration, I use sports as a catalyst for social change, guided by fairness, respect, and accountability. My deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi enriches my commitment to equitable governance. Driven by my experiences as an athlete and leader, I bring discipline and strategic insight to dynamic environments. I believe in the transformative power of sport and am dedicated to creating opportunities for all. Committed to fostering governance that empowers communities and drives equitable organisational growth, I integrate sport science, advocacy, and governance to ensure effective stewardship that enhances organisational performance and sustainability.”
