About Me

“I am applying to undertake the Board Member role for Women Board Members for Sport NZ as advertised on appoint better boards. Currently I am working at Frucor Suntory as the Head of Product Development. I have worked for Frucor Suntory, an FMCG beverage manufacturing business for over 13 years in a variety of technical scientific roles in an innovative FMCG environment. In the quality team, I have been exposed to the full supply chain processes including crisis management and any unexpected issues, such as food safety issues, regulatory issues and pandemic responses. Currently I am in the role of Head of Product Development, responsible for all our products, particularly new product development. Outside my current employment, I have been developing my business skills via an MBA from the University of Auckland. Not only did I learn good board management principles, I completed my research thesis on mentoring young women. Additionally, I mentored for 7 years I have been involved with the YWCA Future Leaders program. I have been mentoring high-school aged women in low socioeconomic areas through their high school experience. I am passionate about developing young women and supporting them in their journeys and actively promoting them. In the sports world I am a member of a field hockey team and coach and umpire my daughters netball team. I see the value of sport in how it positively contributes to society by connecting communities. Currently I am really appreciating managing the product development team at Frucor through a strong work ethic and a positive nature. I am particularly attracted to developing my skills and contributing to a broader society. While this would be my first board appointment, the new challenge excites me as I look to broaden and apply my new skills and perspectives from my MBA. ”
