About Me
“It is my belief that governance is about looking beyond the horizon to inform the strategy, providing guardrails, and challenging management to execute a plan that brings the strategy to life. On the way, management and governance collaborate to navigate and determine the best way forward, with governance holding management accountable for the quality of execution. I have come to learn this through the building of a successful consultancy business and working with growing businesses across a range of sectors. Unlike other people and culture specialists, I have developed a depth of commercial acumen that those from large enterprise environments aren't usually exposed to until later in their careers. I am known for asking those questions no one else wants to put forward to ensure that the due diligence has been done and there is a common understanding around the table. There is no point in moving forward until there is consensus. I completed the Company Directors Course in 2023 and have since been involved in governance reviews, CEO performance reviews, and resolving CEO-board disputes. From this work, I have learned from what could be considered epic failures in leadership and communication and seen how implementing the basics and increased accountability can change the boardroom and board performance as well as influence management performance. If you are a board seeking someone who brings value through showing up, asking questions, and supporting management accountability and development, then let's have a coffee and talk about the opportunity to work together. ”
