About Me
“With a background spanning law, policing, and community service, I bring a strong foundation in integrity, fairness, and accountability to governance roles. I am currently a Detective in the New Zealand Police. Prior to policing, I practised as a barrister and solicitor specialising in employment law, with expertise in disciplinary matters, investigations, and dispute resolution. Of Ngāti Porou and European descent, I am deeply committed to cultural responsiveness and the integration of tikanga Māori in decision-making. I have played and coached at various levels in soccer and am passionate about all sports and the life skills it provides. A lifelong supporter of sport and community participation, I value the role of sport in fostering inclusion, wellbeing, and opportunity. I am motivated by a genuine commitment to safe, fair, and inclusive environments and seek to contribute meaningfully to boards or panels that uphold integrity and trust within Aotearoa’s sport and recreation system. In early 2026 I was appointed as a Trustee Board Member for the Te Tamawai Charitable Trust. The Trust operates three programs, looking to breakdown the barrier for children/youth in sport (The Waterboy) and personal development built around the four pillars of wellbeing (Taku Wairua Tupu and Taku Wairua Kura).”
