About Me

“I’m an enthusiastic sportsperson who loves to participate and compete, and also appreciates the specific opportunities that sport has offered me. I’d welcome a governance role in order to give back in the field of sports, contributing my strategic planning skills, financial management capability and also an ability to work with a broad group of stakeholders to create productive outcomes. My work with NZTE (always in collaboration with various other government agencies) and more recently on the Board of Trustees at St Cuthbert’s College, attests to this – working with different stakeholders on shared mission, while remaining accountable for specific objectives. I have honed strategic growth, business development, and risk mitigation analysis in twenty + years of finance industry work across multiple sectors and in senior leadership teams over the past decade. I’m collaborative, energetic and positive person who can lead teams and also listen to others. I’ve loved sports all my life and understand the social, mental and physical benefits it offers to all ages at various levels. I have coached others in tennis, skiing and snowboarding. I enjoyed playing tennis, badminton and hockey at school, club and Auckland representative level and always enjoyed long distance running and cycling outdoors. Socially I have played in volleyball, waterpolo, netball, softball and squash teams. I’m still a sporadic tennis interclub player (Dunholme Club) and make others look good on a golf course. I’d relish the opportunity to contribute in a governance capacity, to strengthening the growth and sustainability of sport in New Zealand. ”
