About Me
“I’m an experienced governance practitioner with a background in law, business leadership, and social impact. After more than 20 years practising law—10 of those as a partner in a leading commercial law firm—I founded Velettà, a natural skincare brand. My legal and commercial experience underpins a strong understanding of risk, compliance, strategy, and governance. I currently serve on several boards and trusts, including Barnardos Foundation and Yachting New Zealand, where I am Deputy Chair. I recently completed an eight-year tenure as Chair of the Digital Media Trust, which oversees NZ On Screen and AudioCulture. I am also a director of our family companies, which are in the construction sector. My governance experience spans sectors including construction, child welfare, media, digital equity, intellectual property, and education. I bring a values-driven and strategic approach to every role I take on, with particular strengths in policy development, board leadership, and guiding organisations through growth, change, and innovation. Alongside my MBA and law degree, I have practical experience establishing both for-profit and not-for-profit entities, giving me a broad perspective on what it takes to govern well.”
