Along with my peers, I am responsible for setting the strategic direction for the school and the policies by which the institution is controlled and managed. The board measures the performance of the school and principal against the plans set. The school’s direction and performance are a talking point amongst other school boards, for what good governance looks like.

The panel contributed to the future direction of degree programmes offered by the school of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences. We are responsible for providing a link between the University and Industry. I successfully partnered with fellow board members to introduce a new Masters degree programme in 2019, and tailored current Bachelor and Master degree offerings to align with industry trends and future market demands.

My clients include Carter Holt Harvey, Southern Cross Health Society, University of Auckland, Tower Insurance and Oji Fibre Solutions. • Notable large programmes of work have been the Digital Transformation of Southern Cross Health Society’s external member communications, BCP/DR programmes for Carter Holt Harvey and the University of Auckland, a regulatory compliance initiative for Tower Insurance, and a divestment programme to separate Oji Fibre Solutions from Carter Holt Harvey. • In addition, I have led several ERP, IT Audit and Application related projects, with executive level reporting.

• Accountable for the strategic Global Information Systems Portfolio, with a $150m annual capex value. • After successfully establishing the Portfolio framework and relationship strengthening with executive stakeholders, I was asked to head the Global Design team responsible for Architecture, Design and Technology Roadmap for CRM, Marketing, eCommerce, Retail and RTM (Route To Market) for Fonterra Global. • In addition to this, I established a transformational Digital Engagement and Marketing Platform (Salesforce), using agile ways of working.

• Starting off in a Senior Project Management role, I soon became accountable for managing the global Information Systems programme of work for Fletcher Building, reporting to the senior leadership team. • In my final years at Datacom I ran the Professional Services team, growing it from 20 to 32 consultants whilst maintaining profitability, providing services to the corporate sector. • My clients included the Fletcher Building group, Vector, NZ Post, NZ Bloodstock, Manukau Council and Rodney District Council, amongst others. I also established Datacom’s first PMO governance function.

• Technical Leadership roles with Air New Zealand and Thames Timber in New Zealand, as well as Founders Building Society, Ernst & Young, Standard Chartered Bank, BHP Billiton and Delta Corporation in Zimbabwe. • Feb 1998 I was offered my first leadership role with BHP Billiton at the age of 25. Since then, I have held leadership roles, having significant amount of success in each engagement, enabled by a deep technical domain understanding. My ability to cut through the noise and deliver successful outcomes by assembling high-performing teams has been widely acknowledged.
