“My objective for being involved in governance is to provide effective strategic leadership and governance oversite to help guide an organisation’s activities and decision making. I promote diversity of thought and encourage an understanding of the benefits diversity, in all forms, brings to the board table. I provide analytical fresh thinking and use my financial skills to ensure that sensible recommendations and strategic decisions are made. Being future focused is key, as is anticipating and understanding what is coming over the horizon at us. I have exacting standards of ethical behaviour and consider my core values are transparency, accountability, and strong stewardship. I am a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, have strong community governance experience, and clearly understand the difference between governance and management.
