About Me
“With more than 20 years of leadership experience across the primary sector, commercial business, community organisations and governance, I bring a practical, people-focused approach to board leadership and strategic decision-making. My career has been built around strengthening relationships, leading teams through change, driving business performance and supporting sustainable growth within rural New Zealand. I currently hold a senior leadership role with Farmlands Co-operative, where I work across multiple locations supporting operational performance, people leadership, customer engagement and stakeholder relationships throughout the lower South Island. My governance experience includes serving as Board Chair of St Mary's School for eight years, during which I led strategic planning, property development projects, organisational reviews, and stakeholder engagement. This role strengthened my understanding of governance, risk management, financial oversight, compliance and long-term organisational sustainability. I am a graduate of the Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme, where my research focused on strengthening leadership capability and succession pathways within New Zealand's rural sector. The programme further developed my strategic thinking, systems leadership and understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing agribusiness and rural communities. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with farmers, shareholders, community leaders, commercial partners and government agencies, developing a strong reputation for collaboration, relationship building and influencing outcomes. My background spans agribusiness, sales leadership, marketing, events, governance and stakeholder engagement. I am particularly interested in governance opportunities within the primary sector, co-operatives, community organisations, education, regional development and member-based organisations, where I can contribute strategic insight, commercial acumen and a genuine passion for helping organisations create long-term value for their stakeholders and communities.
