About Me

“Ko Tāmaki Makaurau te kāinga. Ko te manaaki, te tika me te kawenga ngā uara e ārahi ana i āku mahi. I help boards move from anxiety about technology and cyber risk to informed oversight. Thirty years in regulated environments have taught me that most boards are not short of technical information. They are short of information they can act on. I am the Chief Information Officer, Shared Services, at International Accreditation New Zealand, an Autonomous Crown entity, providing group technology services to Telarc. I secured board endorsement for a three-year enterprise transformation and now lead it through stage-gate assurance. I established the organisation's first enterprise and security risk register and reframed board and Audit and Risk Committee reporting from technical detail to decision-useful narratives on investment, posture, and residual risk. Earlier, I held executive accountability for cyber security and resilience across national critical infrastructure at Whānau Tahi, a Māori-led organisation reporting to Te Whānau o Waipareira Trust. That included the New Zealand ePrescription Service, which carries most of the country's prescriptions. Before that, I advised banks, insurers, healthcare providers and governments across the Asia Pacific with Microsoft. Manaaki, tika and kawenga guide how I work. I am a Member of the Institute of Directors, with the Company Directors' Course and Chartered Member assessment completed and Chartered status confirmed on appointment. I hold Lead Implementer credentials in ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 42001:2023. I am seeking full board and Audit and Risk Committee appointments where technology, cybersecurity, data, or transformation are material to strategy and risk.”
