Since April 2012 we have helped Rowing NZ, Alzheimers Auckland, NZ Domain Name Registry Ltd, Rubbish Direct Ltd, Daya Trust, Touch NZ, SPCA Auckland Inc., Linguis International Institute, Wellington Dance Festival, Bike NZ, Sport Wellington and Birthright make successful board appointments from our pool over 9,000 members. Operations Manager for the South Island

Red Badge

April 2005 - August 2008 (3 years)

Responsible for the running and management of events in the South Island for Red Badge. Clients included AMI Stadium, Christchurch City Council, Canterbury Cricket Association, Crusaders and New Zealand Cricket. I would meet with clients to discuss their needs. I would advise regarding staff and their roles and co-ordinate and organise staff according to requirements. I recruited staff, organised rosters, role, pay and ensured staff had relevant training. I developed and ran training courses and wrote and produced employment booklets. I organised staff to work events and placed in accordance with abilities and job specification. I prepared briefs and maps for the information of Pre & Post event staff and for Supervisors for the main events. At each major event I would brief Supervisors and run the event from management level. I processed and submitted wages and invoices to Head Office in Auckland. Prepared quotes and advised clients regarding functions/events/concerts. I arranged for transport, accommodation and meal allowances for staff and management when events were held outside Christchurch. I had to work within strict budgets. I had over 300 staff working for Red Badge in Christchurch. Approximately 150 would work a rugby match at AMI Stadium, I would plan and co-ordinate job allocations for each member of staff, when and why, ensuring the event ran smoothly and according to our standards (set out in briefs I designed). I left this role to look after my children.

Police Officer & Police Trainer

Greater Manchester Police - UK

February 2003 - March 2005 (2 years)

As a serving police officer also responsible to teach, supervise and manage probationary constables within the first two years of their service, teaching legislation, force procedures and policies within the wider context of social issues. Summons and Warrants was a lesson I gave to my Stage 3 students, detailing different kinds of summons and warrants, how they are served, considerations when executing, how to plan the execution, and what to do with documents/monies after. I was also responsible to teach police officers learning styles, models and theories to enable them to teach and supervise probationary constables on a one to one basis. Responsible for researching, designing, creating and delivering training packages, ensuring up to date, relevant and realistic. Prepare and manage training rooms and locations for role-play scenarios. I successfully take control in situations; comply with policy and procedure, acting as a role model to others. I direct others by giving precise instructions but can be flexible; am supportive and tolerant when mistakes are made. I reflect on my own performance learning from past experience. I seek responsibility and work in a controlled manner. I am smart in appearance and promote a professional approach and behaviour in others. I left this role to try a new life abroad.

Greater Manchester Police - UK

February 1998 - February 2003 (5 years)

During my police career I did many general police duties working in various areas such as Criminal Investigations Department (C.I.D.), Mobile Uniform Patrol and Custody Office. I have dealt with rape cases, attempt murders, serious assaults, death by dangerous driving, dealing with victims, witnesses and the offenders, as well as trying to ensure the crime scene was kept for forensic examination. I was also a tutor constable where I was responsible for giving on the job training to individual new recruits. Attend court and give evidence in relation to incidents and my case file preparation. Transcribe taped interviews with offenders onto appropriate forms.
