Dedicated to saving lives at sea, or in our case, 'at lake'. We are funded by donations and our own local fund-raising activities. A Governance Board of 8, responsible for approx 30 operational crew, 2 rescue vessels, and around 700 paid members - along with everyone else who use the 625 sq kms of Great Lake Taupo.

Taupo's premier community theatre group, presenting on average 3 plays per year. All volunteers, we own our own theatre and support ourselves from the plays we perform, along with some funding from local grants.

Interesting job, large focus on achieving National sales targets with responsibility for signing off of contracts over a certain value. In some ways it was more of an 'operations' job since the Branch Managers reported to me, but then there were projects I did that were purely marketing. So it was a mixed bag. While there I started up (and was initial chair of) the Outdoor Advertising Association, designed to lobby Government and Local Councils. This was before the RMA... Met some great people - even those I didn't see eye-to-eye with were good people too!
