Aquired out of receivership, it was a business that we took through a major restructure and change management process over the term of my tenure.

DBTCL is the holding company for the Nood Furniture and Design business, with 14 stores throughout New Zealand. At the time of my appointment it also held the Dogs Breakfast retail stores which were unsustainable and were closed down after a restructure process.

The Central Plains Water project is one of the largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the South Island and has won numerous awards including NZ Project Finance Debt Deal of the Year and the Champion Canterbury Innovation Award. My role encompasses corporate governance, multiple capital raises, shareholder/stakeholder management, financial markets compliance, project finance, risk management, construction law and contractor management.

The Discount Superstores Group in Australia was a large retail chain with over 300 stores, 4 store brands and an annual turnover of approximately AUD$500m. Purchased by Jan Cameron in 2010 out of receivership, we undertook a major change management process including voluntary administration and a large scale restructure of operations. It was ultimately partly sold off and partly closed down. My role included key aspects of corporate governance, business strategy, operations management, human resources management, restructuring and change management.

As a partner in the corporate / commercial team, I was a trusted advisor to the boards and senior management of a wide range of public and private clients including Solid Energy, Pyne Gould Corporation, Jan Cameron, Budget, Enable Networks, Queenstown Airport Corporation. I sale worked at Lane Neave as a Senior Associate between 2003 - 2005.

Diageo Australia Limited is the Australasian subsidiary (≈ 600 employees) of the world’s largest premium alcohol business headed by Diageo Plc (listed on NYSE/FTSE/Nikkei). The Australian business includes large scale manufacturing facilities, warehousing and logistics, sales and marketing, product development and support functions. My role advised the Australian board on legal and corporate governance matters across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific region. I was also responsible for negotiating contract terms for several high profile sponsorship deals, including the Australian Cricket Team (for Johnnie Walker), the Wallabies (ARU) (for Bundaberg Rum) and several leading sportspeople
