$2 billion asset base. 400 staff, 15 locations. Apart from leading this organisations engineering, asset purchase and maintenance operations, I directed the sell down and closure of the Hillside Heavy Industry workshop in Dunedin and a general reshape of the overall mechanical operation. I also led the introduction of a major productivity review conducted via staff engagement. I regularly attended and presented to the KiwiRail full board and sub committees new initiatives as well as progress reports on key project progress. This board work has included capital asset acquisition, organisational reshaping, union initiative and negotiation updates.
